Position Summary
The Systems Engineer is responsible for researching and enhancing the infrastructure, technology, and mobile platforms that BidPal utilizes as part of its service offering. This person will streamline the current platforms used today, as well as roll out BidPal’s products to targeted platforms. This position will also identify new platforms and growth opportunities to help BidPal maintain its position as a market leader. Candidates will be based in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Essential Job Functions

• Implement quality, value-added processes on existing platforms.
• Identify and understand all infrastructure, technology, and mobile platform requirements for operating BidPal products as well as their strengths/weaknesses.
• Research new technology that would assist in BidPal achieving company goals.
• Develop mobile platform expansion project plans and report them to Systems Engineering Team and VP of Product.
• Work with the Product Team to develop valuable, cross-platform applications.
• Assist Systems Engineering Team and VP of Product in defining the technology road map for the next 3 years.
• Assist in the rollout of BidPal products.
• Provide systems documentation to other departments when releasing new software and products.
• Research novel approaches to our business model and be fearless in investigating them fully.

Education Requirements:
B.S. in Computer Science, Informatics, MIS, Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field required.

Other Requirements:

• Self-motivated; ability to manage and work independently on projects with management and executive guidance.
• Creative and motivated personality.
• Strong collaborative and communication skills.
• Team-first attitude.
• Excited about a small team environment.

Preferred:

• Experience with network protocol analysis.
• Previous mobile technology work experience.
• Working knowledge of cellular data technology.
• Knowledge of wireless communication protocols, specifically IEEE 802.11.
• Understanding of signal analysis and noise attenuation/mitigation.
• Proficiency working with UNIX/LINUX and/or CLI environments.
• Previous project management experience.
• Previous work experience in working in a mobile application development environment.
• Understanding of and willingness to adopt Agile/Scrum methodology
