Position Summary
The Software Developer is responsible for designing and delivering quality software applications that reside on mobile platforms and integrate with BidPal’s core products. The Software Developer is expected to work well in an Agile-Scrum team environment to develop superior products. Candidates will be based in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Essential Job Functions

• Design and develop quality mobile applications on the 3 primary mobile platforms, with the guidance of all other team members.
• Assist in the planning and estimating of user stories at the beginning of each development iteration.
• Participate with other members of the Scrum team (application specialists, QA analysts, product owners, etc) to deliver value-added product releases.
• Assist in identifying new mobile platforms that would provide strategic advantages for BidPal.
• Promote new product ideas and features by observing new product releases in action and soliciting user feedback.
• Document the changes made to the code base when submitting features.
• Utilize the Scrum methodology and participate in all phases of its iterative process.

Education Requirements:
B.S. in Computer Science, Informatics, MIS, or related field required

Other Requirements:

• 1+ years (or relevant undergraduate experience) developing mobile applications on one or more of the major platforms (Apple iOS, Google Android, Blackberry).
• Experience with Apache Tomcat, Struts, iBatis and MySQL.
• Working experience with data modeling and writing SQL queries, particularly in the development of views and efficient queries.
• Strong collaborative skills
• Self-motivated work mentality
• Excited about a small team environment

Preferred:

• Working experience developing web applications with a combination of Java, Java Server Pages (JSP), servlets, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Development in client-rich web technologies such as jQuery.
